Well, what a wonderful afternoon!
Ministry of Handmade is officially launched. Thanks to all everyone who attended and joined in the celebrations. It was great to see the studio completed. It was a whirlwind of activity over the last few days to get it ready but the finished result was worth it!
Thanks to my wonderful husband, Maurice, for the two awesome tables he made for me. I think my favourite part of the studio would be the shelf we created from the frame of our youngest son’s discarded king single bed. The timber was cut to size, assembled and then covered in old paper sewing pattern pieces. It looks great and adds a real creative edge!
All of the workshop projects were on display including the camisole top, the boxer shorts, a cushion, a tote bag, the handy zipper pouch and the advent bunting with pockets for gifts, sweets or messages.
We made a start on the community quilt – lots of folk got in on the action, joining together a square or two.
Next step…start rolling out the workshops. Oh, and of course, Brisbane Shopaholics Day Out next Sunday. Yay!!
