Chunky Pouch!

I’ve been prototyping a pouch design today, ready for a new workshop. This chunky little guy is perfect for storing all your bits and bobs and helping maintain a sense of order and style! I love this pouch because the zipper design allows you to open the sides right up and easily access […]

A culture of D.I.Y.

We have just come back from Lauren and Josh’s house after helping them with a few finishing touches for their kitchen makeover before listing their house for sale. One of the jobs this morning was to attach this DIY timber shelf unit to the wall. It is made of ply and […]

Monochromatic Mishap!

Those who know me well, fully recognise that I love colour! But last winter when I spied these fabulous Sportscraft houndstooth trousers on sale, I couldn’t resist. I usually make all my own clothes but a pair of well made tailored trousers on sale will see me grabbing my purse. I viewed these […]

Paint Couture!

For all the lovely textiles that I work with and that people bring to workshops, I must admit that I have a real soft spot for the design on my favourite painting clothes! It is a design created at random, layer on layer built up over years of painting jobs. Different colours remind […]

Be still my beating heart!

This is on the work table today… two lampshades from this incredible fine textured (and very soft) Italian linen. This is another custom order and when I saw this fabric it was love at first sight!!! Sigh!!!

Jasmine Vine Basket Weaving!

Well it is late afternoon here at our hideaway at Ravensbourne. @17_mile_cottage has a beautiful front verandah, perfect for taking in the view, enjoying a nice coldie and slowing the pace a bit with basket work.

I packed this dried out Jasmine vine from home in anticipation of sitting quietly and enjoying […]

Outdoor Couch Cushions!

I’m just finishing off the last of five seat cushions for an outdoor setting. This is a @warwickfabrics called Kona Cloud. It is a heavy duty fabric so not the easiest sew, but there is no piping so they are coming together fairly quickly.

New entry deck almost!!

Well he’s hard at it again today after a full day yesterday. Maurice loves doing these carpentry jobs… I think he missed his calling. He had such an eye for detail and is willing to take the time it takes to get it right. He’s even using the ratchet straps from […]

Finishing touch!

Up early this morning to attach this stunning braid to two navy Designers Guild linen shades. This is another custom order for an interiors store. Gorgeous classic timeless appeal.
