We are excited to bring you our first collection of themed homewares.

First up… a collection using a luxurious fabric that enjoys a world-wide reputation and definitely can be accused of causing genuine “fabric envy”!

Chiang Mai Dragon is an iconic, highly sought-after Chinoiserie-style print by the luxury design house Schumacher. Inspired by an Art Deco print, the vivid pattern features stylized dragons, exotic florals, and lush foliage. It is popular for high-end upholstery, drapery and cushions.

An instant hit from the moment it was introduced, this is one of Schumacher’s best-loved designs. The chinoiserie motif was inspired by an Art Deco print. from the 1920s.

Usually priced around the $600/m mark, we were fortunate to be the custodians of a stunning group of remnants. Keen to share my absolute love of Chiang Mai Dragon with you, this was an easy pick for our first collection. These pieces are all one-offs and were created in a bespoke manner determined by the sizes of the various pieces of fabric. Even the smaller offcuts were carefully sorted, arranged and stitched into our unique Kaleidoscope Cushions.

Our workshop cancellation policy?

If you register for a workshop and later you need to cancel your attendance then different refunds occur depending on how much notice we are given and on the facilitator for the workshop. The following refunds apply:

Workshops where the facilitator is Julie Hillier or Maurice Hillier - 

  • 8 days or more before the scheduled workshop time - we will refund 100% of the workshop fee
  • 2-7 days before the scheduled workshop time - we will refund 50% of the workshop fee or if you prefer, a voucher to the value of 50% of the workshop fee
  • Within 1 day before the scheduled workshop time - sorry, no refund

Other workshops -   

  • Sorry, no refund.

Should Ministry of Handmade cancel a workshop - 

If, for any reason, Ministry of Handmade has to cancel a workshop we will offer you a choice of:

  • full refund
  • a voucher to the value of the workshop
  • a transfer to the same workshop being held at another time

Events

Events are defined as the programs and workshops that are not single workshops held at our studio in Bridgeman Downs. For example: Makers Escape is an event. Our refund policy and cancellation policy will vary from event to event and will be explained on the page containing the registration form for the particular event.

Please note - if you have to cancel - communication is the key - please let us know as soon as possible of your circumstances and your intentions.

What forms of payment do you accept?

When registering for a workshop you will be taken to a payment page - we use PayPal. PayPal allows you to pay using your own PayPal account or (if you don't have an account) you can pay using your credit card or your debit card. When you get to the payment page - it will look like this:
