What began as a Brisbane-based, workshop-focused business quickly evolved as we recognised the growing demand for lampshade kits across Australia and New Zealand. Today, more than 7,000 customers have chosen our product a clear validation of our approach.
We have developed the simplest method for making lampshades – no sewing, no gluing. Just about anyone can make a lampshade using our comprehensive and easy-to-follow instructions and industry-standard materials.
All of our kits are made in Australia, supported by a network of local businesses.

Your next orders
You can order as many kits as you need in any combination of sizes. If the number of kits ordered is 8 or more, then shipping is free.
Please note: the kits for retail sale are not available to purchase via our online shop. They are only available by either using the order form below, or by sending us an email.

How much fabric do I need?
This information is also provided on the back of the kit box.
Minimum fabric requirements are:
- 25cm Drum – 90cm wide x 50cm high
- 30cm Drum – 105cm wide x 50cm high
- 35cm Drum – 120cm wide x 50cm high
What type of fabric is best to use?
This information (and more) is also provided with the instructions.
Best fabric:
- Type – Cotton, linen, cotton drill, polyester cotton. They tend to “behave” well during the making process.
- Weight – Light to medium weight is best. Heavier fabrics don’t let as much light through and they tend to be stiffer, so harder to work with.
- Weave – Tight weave is better than a loose weave. Loose weave fabrics tend to fray more and they don’t hold their form well.
Fabric to avoid:
- Indoor/outdoor fabrics
- Really lightweight satins and silks
- Fabrics treated with Scotch Guard or similar waterproofing treatments
- Heavy upholstery fabric
- Fabrics that have voids, or are holey
