The words big and complex come to mind when describing this project!
Bespoke lighting was required for this school, and they had to be delivered on time!
We were approached by the wonderful people at a lighting company in Brunswick VIC, Efficient Lighting Systems (ELS) to make these impressive shades for their client.
Here’s the details at a glance:
- 31 shades
- 4 sizes
- Largest 860mm diameter x 1500mm high
- Each shade to contain a complex (and heavy) lighting module
Our tasks were to:
- Fabricate and powder coat the frames
- Install the lighting modules
- Make the shades
- Deliver the shades to the installer
We loved the challenge and the accompanying problem solving required to create these shades within the tight time frame allocated for the job.
They are now suspended impressively at West Moreton Anglican College in their new student hub and administration building.
To complete the job, we transformed our studio into a production facility and our driveway into a loading dock! While the job was a large one, we knew it was well within our capabilities so we eagerly faced the tasks head-on! It was fun and has inspired us to take on larger projects in the future.
