Tangerine Palms
Tangerine palms & muticoloured flora, plus a Queenslander or two in Brisbane!
A cityscape of abundant colour and various tropical flora. Mangoes, hibiscus and grevillea hide numerous birds. Norman Park State School sits high on the hill looking down to the Brisbane River with Hawthorne Ferry Terminal and the Brisbane Powerhouse next to New Farm Park.
Hibiscus Affair
Hibiscus Affair is a landscape of inner-city Brisbane houses.
From pink render to lacy colonials, this painting shows different styles of classic Queenslander architecture. The buildings are surrounded by tropical flora such as a huge mango tree, vibrant orange palms and the two hibiscus shrubs front and centre.
Dash of Lime
Pink palms with a dash of lime!
The faithfully renovated Queenslanders of the inner southern suburban hills of Brisbane, with their lattice and fretwork are contrasted by the cityscape in the background. The Brisbane River snakes through to emphasise the contrast.
Saffron Sky
Brisbane sunsets of spicy saffron hold us in awe and as daylight closes, a shimmering blanket of blazing red and orange spread across Brisbane hills.
This fiery glow reflects over the tin roofs kissing our Queenslanders goodnight. Saffron Sunset Over Brisbane focuses on the inner city hills of Rosalie, Paddington, Bardon and Red Hill.
Confetti Avenues
Confetti Avenues pay homage to the sprinkle of brilliant colour and blush of purple that transforms Brisbane in the spring time when violet blossoms rain down from the jacaranda trees.
Confetti Avenues is a digital reworking of the original artwork by Debra Hood titled Brisbane Confetti With a Violet Blush (2020)
Tangerine Dusk
Featuring a view of the city from West End and South Brisbane under a tangerine sky.
The Riverside Expressway flows along the Brisbane River like a ribbon, framing the ever changing city skyline.
What are the Hero and Rocket Lamps?
Ministry of Handmade designed the Hero and Rocket Lamps specifically to showcase fabric and printed art panels.
Hero Lamps – Ministry of Handmade’s own design. A Brisbane-made ply base with sleek elegant lines topped with a tall shade that is perfect for showcasing art.
Size – base 2.5cm x 18cm diameter, shade 60cm tall x 18cm diameter.
Rocket Lamps – The same sleek lines and design as the Hero Lamp but with the additional of Mid Century inspired angled legs.
Size – base 25cm at bottom of legs x 30cm tall, shade 60cm tall x 18cm diameter.
These lamps with Debra Hood Art panels are available to you in three ways:
- A kit – where you make the shade and attach it to the base
- A workshop project – where you attend one of our lampshade making workshops and complete your lamp in the session
- A custom made order – where you simply order the lamp with the art panel of your choice.
