Lampshades are our most popular workshop!
We run these fun 3 hour sessions on a regular basis from our studios in Bridgeman Downs on the northside of Brisbane. We also host lampshade workshops across Australia as part of our regular road trips (lockdowns permitting).
With a small class size you’ll get plenty of individual attention and go home with a fabulous finished lampshade.
We offer a huge range of sizes in a variety of shapes. We also give you the option of bringing your own fabric or purchasing from our supplies.
All other materials and tools are provided.

Join us online for a Zoom-based Lampshade Tutorial.
It’s easier than you think AND you receive a voucher to the value of the workshop to spend on kits and/or supplies. Online tutorials are simply great value.

We are able to custom make lampshades to your specifications.
Whether you want one lampshade or one hundred. Yes, we are serious! So far our largest order for one client was to supply 116 lampshades for the Day Spa at the boutique hotel, Halcyon House, at Cabarita Beach, NSW.
We make lampshades for restaurants, hotels, offices and for a wide range of interior designers.
It’s easy……tell us the size and shape and we’ll take it from there.
You can provide your own fabric or we can source it for you.
Inspired Built
The project manager for the rebuild of the East Brisbane IGA Supermarket contacted us to make 5 very large shades made from coffee sacks. We found Inspired Built and their designer to be great clients.

Central Hotel Shellharbour
The Central Hotel at Shellharbour NSW 2529 is part of the Redcape Hotel Group. We were asked by Redcape to make some rustic hessian shades for the rejuvenation of the Bistro. It was a fun project with some really big (90cm diameter) lampshades. The photo of our shades in the Bistro is from the Central Hotel website.

Guidelines for choosing fabric
Light to medium weight cotton, linen, cotton drill, polyester cotton. Fabrics with very loose weave or coarse or uneven grain or texture are not really suitable. Fabric may be purchased from Ministry of Handmade when you come for a workshop.
For empire shades, fabrics with designs that run obviously horizontally or vertically are not suitable as the shade curves.

Book your own private lampshade event
Why not gather together a few friends or family (from 2 – 6 people) for your very own private lampshade event.
This is a perfect way to celebrate a birthday or other special event or just to have a jolly good old catch-up while working on a fun project!
