Create your own stunning pleated lampshade!

There is something special about the look of a pleated lampshade. The added texture and definition can really be a focal point in a room and add another layer of interest and sophistication.

Pleated shades are made entirely from fabric with a pleated fabric outer and a fabric lining. The finishing touch is the self bias trim to the top and bottom.

In this workshop we’ll show you how to create your own pleated shade. We’ll guide you through each of the steps and you’ll go home with your own shade as well as easy-to-follow instructions so that you can make more pleated shades at home it you wish. Additional frames may be purchased if required.

What’s included?

• Australian made white powder-coated wire frame*
• Lining fabric
• Workshop notes
• Lampshade making tools and equipment

*You will have the choice of making one shade from these four options:

• Empire  15cm/25cm diameter top/bottom, 20cm high
• Empire  20cm/30cm diameter top/bottom, 24.5cm high
• Drum  25cm diameter 23cm high
• Drum  30cm diameter 26cm high

Experience required: No experience necessary

What to bring:

• 1.0m of fabric with a minimum width of 137cm pre-cut into strips**

Best fabrics to use:
Suitable fabrics include cottons, linens, cotton/linen blends, cotton/polyester blends. Please do not bring synthetic fabrics, heavy upholstery fabrics, striped/checked fabrics.

**Pre-cut strips of fabric – these will need to be cut at home before the workshop. Details of what is required will be sent to you when you have registered.
