Gelatin Plate Monoprinting
Makers Escape Workshop
Saturday 28 August Morning
28 August @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm$115.00
Experience the fabulously fun, spontaneous and painterly art of gelatin plate monoprinting. With this process, there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, There are no ‘mistakes’. It is playful and creative.
In this one half-day workshop we will work with found and organic shapes and objects to produce a series of one-off prints on paper. We will discuss how you can apply this printmaking technique to other surfaces such as fabrics, and how you can continue at home with minimal investment in materials.
You will leave this workshop with your own hand-printed monotype prints, new skills and information to keep printing at home.
Kim Herringe is a printmaking artist, passionate about the artform and sharing her skills. She lives in Maleny where she finds inspiration in the natural environment of the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Working to combine the meditative craft of printmaking with capturing a slower pace of life experienced in the natural world, she is reminded to be still and present in daily life. It is these feelings that she aims to share in her work and printmaking workshops.
Kim has combined skills learned over a 30 year career in a digital design and marketing space with her love of printmaking and teaching. She runs year-round workshop from her studio in Maleny, with an intention of making printmaking, in all its glorious forms, accessible and easy for people to learn and explore.
Kim’s artwork is sold through Montville Art Gallery, and her work has been exhibited in the Caloundra Regional Art Gallery and other galleries in Victoria and Queensland.
