Upholster a piped rectangular footstool!

Is there a furniture maker or renovator inside you….. trying to get out? Want to create or renovate a simple piece of furniture with your own hands? Confused about basic upholstery? Not sure what tools you need?

We’ll show you how to make your very own footstool in simple steps and demystify all the upholstery “speak”.

We will cover:

• Basic tools required
• Making a timber frame from recycled or new timber or how to strip an old footstool
• Attaching jute webbing and hessian
• Cutting and glueing foam
• Attaching wadding
• Selecting and measuring fabric
• Making and attaching piping to top
• Attaching side wall to the top
• Attaching fabric to the frame
• Attaching dust cover
• Attaching legs

In this tutorial, we’ll make a footstool as you watch and, we’ll answer your questions as we go!

At the end of the session, if you are ready to make or reupholster your own footstool, we’ll have materials available in our shop:

• Webbing
• Hessian
• Foam
• Wadding
• Legs

What is provided:
A set of notes to help you with future projects.
