Working with beautiful chunky yarn, learn the techniques to create storage containers with texture! These baskets are handy for organising, housing indoor plants and make beautiful handmade additions to your home or gifts for someone special.

What the workshop covers:
You’ll be guided through each step of the pattern and shown tips and tricks along the way. We will also cover how to:

• Read a crochet pattern
• Make a magic circle
• Crochet a flat circle – without waves or curves!
• Transition to make the sides of the basket with a neat edge
• Decrease stitches
• Add handles
• Alter the pattern to make variations of the basket size and shape

Experience required:
Must be competent at basic crochet or have completed the ‘Introduction to Crochet’ workshop at Ministry of Handmade and practised since then.

Please bring:
3 skeins of super chunky/bulky yarn and 12mm crochet hook (this will make a larger basket) OR 4 skeins of 8 ply yarn and 6mm hook.
Please note: The yarn used for the baskets in the images is 5.50mm cotton string (21 ply twisted cotton string) x 75 metres.

What you get to take home:
The chunky crocheted basket, the crochet basket pattern and instructions.
