Baskets from the Garden
Saturday 22 September
Saturday 22 September 2018 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm$125.00
We are SUPER EXCITED about this workshop. Spend five beautifully creative hours in the company of like-minded people on the Ministry of Handmade treetop deck…. learn the ancient art of basket coiling plants from your garden. Learn how to harvest, dry and store plants so they can be used in this process. Become inspired by what’s out there and you’ll never look at plants the same way.
And . . . you will go home with your own unique basket.
Our facilitator for this workshop is highly respected teacher Ruth Woods of Craft School Oz from Victoria. Ruth is now a favourite visiting facilitator at Ministry of Handmade having taught basket coiling here over the last two years. Ruth has lived in South East Asia and Arnhem Land and incorporates into her sessions the skills she learned working with women there.
The workshop is suitable for beginners as well and the more crafty expert.
- All materials are supplied – but if you have materials you’ve taken from your garden, feel free to bring them along. We will send you information (after registering for the workshop) about the types of plants you can harvest.
