A culture of D.I.Y.
We have just come back from Lauren and Josh’s house after helping them with a few finishing touches for their kitchen makeover before listing their house for sale. One of the jobs this morning was to attach this DIY timber shelf unit to the wall. It is made of ply and has been given a few coats of diluted white paint before finishing with estapol to create a lime washed look. The shelves extend the line of the original wall hung timber kitchen cupboards. It is little touches like this that add valuable storage and help make a house a home…
Lauren can now display some of her much loved vases and cook books… instant personality added to 1940s kitchen!! Other DIY projects Lauren and Josh have completed include painting the timber cupboards which were a lovely shade of custard, updating the custard and green tiles with white tile paint (after all the necessary prep work), ripping up the vinyl and polishing the floorboards, painting the grotty old rangehood with black satin enamel paint and fitting new blinds.
It is all looking so schmick!! Your own imagination, creativity, elbow grease and paint can add so much value!!
