Luscious linen lampshade!

Here is a custom shade that I am making… isn’t she a beauty! Can’t believe I am on Day 99! I’ve been quiet for the last few days… still making, but all my creativity is going into Makers Escape and it is “secret squirrels”!! Don’t want to spoil the surprise!! […]

It’s a sign!!

Thanks @thelasermill__ for the laser cut ply letters that we’ll use to make a new sign. The background ply is going to be stained, then we’ll attach the letters using aquadhere before sealing it all with a clear water-based finish to protect it.

Drying time!!

Well, the studio looks like a bit of the proverbial “Chinese laundry”! We have been screen printing pieces of leftover denim to make pockets for the aprons for our helpers for Makers Escape. The pockets are now drying before I bundle everything up and drop it off to my wonderful mum who is […]

Fabric Sunshine!

This quilt is all but finished… just the binding and a few washes to go and then it is ready to be delivered to a domestic violence shelter. We have had a wonderful afternoon stitching rag quilts using donated fabrics… chatter, laughter, tea and cake, sewing and snipping!

Thank you Vanessa, Carron, Sue, Alison, […]

More curtains!

I posted about curtains a week or so ago… these are more curtains for the same friend. Lots of measuring and pinning for these hems which I will stitch on the machine using an invisible hemming stitch. These curtains are for the living room and are 1.5 drops wide.

Thank goodness I have a […]

Cushion Quartet!

This morning Rachel visited for a private lesson to make four matching cushions to coordinate with her new sofas. Rachel purchased the fabric in England last year when she was there visiting her mother. As she only had just over a metre, we backed the cushions with a matching neutral colour. We used […]

Chunky Pouch!

I’ve been prototyping a pouch design today, ready for a new workshop. This chunky little guy is perfect for storing all your bits and bobs and helping maintain a sense of order and style! I love this pouch because the zipper design allows you to open the sides right up and easily access […]

Paint Couture!

For all the lovely textiles that I work with and that people bring to workshops, I must admit that I have a real soft spot for the design on my favourite painting clothes! It is a design created at random, layer on layer built up over years of painting jobs. Different colours remind […]

Curtains!

I don’t usually custom make curtains but when a lovely friend asks you, how can you say “no”!

Leanna has just had her house painted inside and out and new curtains for several rooms were on the agenda to go with the new lovely rich tones in her bedrooms, living room and media room. I […]
