Drying time!!

Well, the studio looks like a bit of the proverbial “Chinese laundry”! We have been screen printing pieces of leftover denim to make pockets for the aprons for our helpers for Makers Escape. The pockets are now drying before I bundle everything up and drop it off to my wonderful mum who is […]

Private lesson with Rhonda!

What a fabulous way to spend a day… teaching Rhonda from @theurallaprintgallery how to make an ottoman and a lampshade. Rhonda travelled from Uralla on the New England Tableland in NSW to pick up some new skills. Her fabric by @gekkoprints was DIVINE… I did swoon!!!

Fabric Sunshine!

This quilt is all but finished… just the binding and a few washes to go and then it is ready to be delivered to a domestic violence shelter. We have had a wonderful afternoon stitching rag quilts using donated fabrics… chatter, laughter, tea and cake, sewing and snipping!

More curtains!

I posted about curtains a week or so ago… these are more curtains for the same friend. Lots of measuring and pinning for these hems which I will stitch on the machine using an invisible hemming stitch. These curtains are for the living room and are 1.5 drops wide.

This morning I helped Laetitia upholster the top of one of her dining chairs. In the last lesson, two weeks ago, we upholstered the seat. Laetitia has recently arrived in Brisbane with her family from France. They brought this set of four dining chairs […]

Gift Voucher production line!

We make our own gift vouchers so that we can adapt the design or customise them whenever we wish. This saves the expense of a big print run and also provides the versatility to tweak the design as necessary. This morning I printed up another batch that are now ready to […]

Maurice has been in the workshop this morning prepping legs for the Ottoman Workshop on Saturday afternoon. We have a full workshop with four participants and for the first time ever, we have each person making a different ottoman…. tall round tapered legs for Oscar, short round tapered legs for Hugo, tapered rectangular legs for […]

One rough hewn timber heart + a length of scrappy twine = necklace!

I bought this heart at Thousand Island Dressing at Paddington a year or so ago specifically to make a necklace. I wasn’t sure what to use to hang the heart but wanted to incorporate something I had made. A length of scrappy […]
