For the first time at Ministry of Handmade . . . create a string bag by making your own string – learn this ancient art of bag making that has been around for generations in cultures all over the world. This is a continuous method with no knots and a seamless process.

Our facilitator for this workshop is highly respected teacher Ruth Woods of Craft School Oz from Victoria. Ruth is now a favourite visiting facilitator at Ministry of Handmade having taught basket coiling here over the last two years. Ruth has lived in South East Asia and Arnhem Land and incorporates into her sessions the skills she learned working with women there.

Morning tea on arrival and a light lunch is included.

The workshop is suitable for beginners as well and the more crafty expert.

  • All materials are supplied.

Facilitator: Ruth Woods
